As the snow melts and we start dreaming of pools and barbecuing, we’re reminded that Spring is just around the corner; and this Friday actually marks the first day of the season that signals the end of the dreaded North-american winter.
This year the first day of Spring also has ties to another important event; one of a more celestial nature. This Friday March 20, the Northern hemisphere will experience its first total solar eclipse since November 3, 2013 when the moon makes a complete pass over the sun.
Unfortunately not everyone will get to experience this visual display, but those in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Great Britain and Ireland will have the best opportunity to see the action. Those of us in North America will have to settle for watching this solar spectacle online as it will be broadcast through several sites including space.com and slooh.com.
